I’m a hands-on engineer who believes technology can be a source for a great fun. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Telematics Engineering, a Master’s Degree in Telecommunication Engineering and a Master’s Degree in Information, Communication and Audiovisual Media Technologies. My previous fun includes working at Voztelecom as a VoIP engineer, at Universitat Pompeu Fabra as a Researcher/Associate Professor and as Product Architect with Tekelec (iptel.org, Berlin), extending the SIP Express Router (SER) for the 3GPP IMS CSCF and NGN use. For the last years, I have contributed to the growth of Acme Packet playing the roles of Systems Engineer and Solutions Architect, where I’ve been leading WebRTC and other Over-The-Top activities in EMEA and CALA regions. While both Acme Packet and Tekelec have been recently acquired by Oracle, I promise I have nothing to do with that 😉

I’m currently working as an independent consultant for a number of technology providers and network operators helping them to make WebRTC happen. In parallel, I serve as Expert Reviewer for the European Commission providing advice in several innovation programs and I’m active participant in some standardization bodies where I co-author a number of contributions and co-chair the STRAW Working Group at the IETF.

I live in Spain, alternating between Gipuzkoa (Basque Country) and Barcelona (Catalonia). Gipuzkoa is one of the most beautiful places to live in while in Barcelona I find the entrepreneurial fun. When I manage to have some free time I go hiking, read books or play my so loved Fender Telecaster.
